SANCTUARY is a documentary about an immigrant living in Tucson, Ariz. who will stop at nothing to stay with his family. Daniel Neyoy Ruiz, an undocumented immigrant living in the United States for the last decade is under deportation proceedings from the federal government. A Tucson-area church, Southside Presbyterian, that has history with providing sanctuary for illegal immigrants opens their doors for the man and his family. The family says they will stay on the church property until the federal government reverses its decision to deport him. The producer, Colton Shone, a Navajo tribesman who works in local news for a local Tucson AZ TV station believes this story is deserves more than 2 minutes on a local broadcast. The producer believes the political battle now being waged over immigration is not often viewed from the perspective of Native Americans.
