Additionally, leading Melville scholars to analyze Melville’s truth-seeking and literary back-story while discussing Melville’s references to Shakespeare, Hawthorne, Emerson, and the Bible. These Melville scholars include Laurie Laurent-Lorent, Walter Bezanson, Martin Bickman, Merton Sealts, and John Bryant.
